WitchyWords & Bulletvanna

Two games in progress in Godot 4, a word-brewing roguelite and a top-down shooter, with about 11,000 lines of GDScript between them.

Design sketch over a WitchyWords prototype: letter grid, mana meters for fire, water, earth and air, spell slots and a tap area, marked up in red.

WitchyWords

A word-brewing roguelite for mobile. You run a potion shop over eight nights, spelling words in a rising cauldron of letters to hit each customer's potency target. Under the hood: a rules engine kept separate from the UI, a dictionary solver, a balance bot and headless tests.

Bulletvanna

A top-down shooter built on a pooled system that handles 10,000 projectiles with data-oriented arrays. A Blender-to-sprite pipeline renders the walls and characters with normal maps for dynamic 2D lighting.

Why games

Games are systems design with instant feedback. It's the same instinct as workflow design, but you find out in seconds whether it works.
